FAQ's
Q. How many drops of Can-C will I need?
For cataract - unless directed differently from your medical professional, the usual is two drops in the effected eye or eyes twice daily – probably best in the morning and night. It is advisable to allow at least 5 minutes in between drops to allow the first drop to fully absorb. For other conditions the usage varies but half the cataract dosage is most common. The least dosage is just 1 drop a day for general eye health.
Q. Will Can-C work on a very old cataract?
Yes but the severity of the cataract will determine the level of improvement. The clinical trials showed that those patients with cataracts aged less than 7 years experienced the most dramatic results, those who had cataracts up to 15 years received good results and those with cataracts older than 15 years experienced less dramatic improvements.
To re-iterate - Continue to use the drops at the recommended dose until the optimal level of reversal has been achieved. This should occur between 6 - 12 months of continuous daily use. Once this level of improvement has been reached it is advised to reduce the daily dose to the maintenance level of 1 drop daily for prevention against possible cataract re-occurrence.
Q. Usually when I apply eye drops some will run down my face. Can I minimize any wastage?
As long as some of the liquid has been delivered you will be okay even if some does run out of the eye down your face. Usually much more has been delivered than you think. If you are experiencing difficulties in the traditional methods of application, two popular ways to apply eye drops are as follows:
1: Gently pull the corner of your lower eye lid down and tilt your head back. Apply 1 or 2 drops into the pocket formed by your lower eyelid. Be careful not to allow the tip to touch your eye or any other surfaces.
2: Close your eye, apply 1 or 2 drops to the inner corner of your eye. Open your eye and blink several times to spread the drops properly.
Always squeeze gently, take your time and do not panic.
Q. Can I use Can-C as prevention against eye disorders such as Cataracts and Retinal disease?
Yes, Dr. Babizhayev recommends 1 drop into each eye daily with intermittent breaks or as directed by a physician.
Q. Will my cataract come back after it is gone?
It is quite possible that the same causal effects or deficiency is still present once the cataract has gone. The aging process continues and senile cataract is an on-going aging problem so Dr. Babizhayev recommends that intermittent use of N-acetylcarnosine eye-drops continue even after the reduction or reversal of cataracts. For good ocular health and cataract prevention, apply 1-drop into each eye daily with intermittent breaks unless otherwise directed by your physician.
Q. Are there any medical contraindications with Can-C?
As with the use of all medicinal preparations you should consult your physician or medical professional when commencing or adding any new product to an existing regimen. To date there have been no medications that interfere with the effectiveness of Can-C or vice versa. To be cautious it is perhaps advisable to not take any preparations within 1 hour, before or after applying Can-C. Perhaps be especially careful if you are using another eye drop.
Q. Will the drops burn my eyes at all?
As with most eye drops Can-C is buffered to an optimal pH level. There should not be any burning when using this product, in fact it should have the opposite effect offering soothing relief of any previous irritation. But as with all eye drops if any burning persists, immediately consult your eye care specialist and discontinue use of the product.
Q. How soon will it be before I begin to notice any changes or improvements?
All depending on the maturity or severity of the cataract or eye condition normally initial results are noticed after the first 3 months of use. Usually results are more significant after four to five months and even more dramatic results are achieved after six months.
Q. How will I be able to tell if the product is working for me?
The lubricating benefits are often noticed almost immediately but as mentioned above its usually at 3 months that the first signs of improvement for aging eye disorders are noticed. One of the first signs of a cataract thinning is the improvement in night vision and an improved clarity or brightness of colors. At either the 6 or 12 month point you should have your eyes checked to determine to what degree you have succeeded in reversing your cataract. Once the optimal level of reversal has been achieved, continue to use the recommended maintenance dose to ensure that cataract does not return.
Q. How long will one box of Can-C last?
If you are treating both eyes for cataract reversal, 1 box of Can-C will last 2 weeks, perhaps an easier explanation is 1 box per eye, per month. Each box of Can-C contains two 5ml vials and each 5ml vial contains approximately 75-drops. When used for cataracts, apply two drops into each affected eye in the morning and then again at night time.
If using Can-C as a preventive measure or for maintenance purposes the dosage is 1 drop into each eye daily therefore one box of Can-C will last for approximately eight weeks.
Q. I have a friend who is using the eye drops on his dog. Is this ok?
Yes. Both veterinarians and dog owners are using this product to effectively address their pet's cataracts. In fact, the clinical results showed that Can-C may even work more effectively in canines than in humans!
Can-C is a very popular product being used in both humans and dogs. The protocol adopted by pet owners seem to be the same as that in humans and the results are just as good. Cataracts in animals are often more obvious and when using Can-C eye drops (which are easy to administer) you can actually see when the cataract begins to get smaller.
